Magical pair of Ptarmigans in Winter scene. Set in a most unusual corner case with polished bamboo edging, a style feature often reserved for Ward’s special commissions. Clean, bright and original, each bird is cleverly suspended in flight and showing Winter plumage, with snow-encrusted rocks containing ground glass which sparkles in the light. Set against a soft, graduated sky backdrop with faintly painted clouds. Retaining the original glass to the top/front and carrying a pair of Rowland Ward ‘Notice’ labels with care instructions (over-painted).
