Unusual late-Victorian full mount museum-style specimen of a Yellow-footed Tortoise, formerly part of the Marlborough College natural history collection. Well-modelled with the head slightly turned and details preserved such as folds in the skin. The polished shell has been fixed via traditional metal wires and the body stuffed with wood shavings. Mounted to the original rectangular wooden base, the underside pencilled ‘Tortoise’.
